IRVINE

A development of townhomes and single homes is under construction on Cienega and Full Moon near Portola Parkway. The 186,000-square-foot area is expected to have 92 homes at 1,126 to 1,901 square feet each, with one to three bedrooms and attached garages. The sales office for the project is open with the first phase of homes going up for sale this week. Prices are starting in the low $300,000s. There will be a total of eight home designs with one-to three-story options featuring insulation, central air conditioning, ceramic tile entries, walk-in closets and marble countertops. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes Inc. is the developer of the project. The architect is Irvine-based JZMK Partners. The cost of construction was not disclosed.

ALIZO VIEJO

A remodeling of Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills on Moulton Parkway and El Toro Road is under construction. The church is on its first phase of renovations, which include landscaping, the demolition of the parking lot and the addition of a building for meeting rooms. The first phase started in the September and should be done in a month. The second phase of the project is set to add 2,000 square feet to the church’s sanctuary. Calvary Chapel is the developer. The architect is Elements Architecture out of San Juan Capistrano. Rick Hamm Construction Inc. of Orange is the contractor. The cost of the project wasn’t disclosed.

GARDEN GROVE

The Buena Clinton Youth and Family Center off Westminster Avenue and Fairview Street is nearly complete. The two-level, 6,600-square-foot facility will include a multipurpose room, a teen center that will be used as the headquarters for a teen leadership group, a counseling and case management area and an outdoor multisports court. The $2 million center is being funded by a Murray-Hayden Urban Parks and Youth Services grant awarded in 2004 and a $15,000 Create Your Legacy grant from now defunct mortgage company Ameriquest Mortgage Co. Construction started in August and is set to be complete by midyear. The city of Garden Grove is the developer. Crane Architectural Group of Fullerton is the architect. Scrimsher Construction/Development Inc. of Ladera Ranch is the contractor.

MISSION VIEJO

Plans to renovate a Taco Bell at Santa Margarita Parkway and Marguerite Parkway have been submitted to the city. Plans include demolishing a sun room and replacing it with wood-frame walls. Also proposed for the renovations are improved signs, landscaping, paint, parking lot lights and trash bins, as well

as an improved facade. The undisclosed contractor was pre-bid by Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp., part of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum Brands Inc.

PLACENTIA

The Bruery, a beer brewer and tasting room on Dunn Way off of the Orange (57) Freeway, is planning to open a store near its current location. The privately owned, 1,800-square-foot property was leased in March and was previously improved, though the space has been vacant for several years. The store will include a tasting room and beer cafe, which will serve 12 beers from the brewery along with 16 beers from other craft breweries, as well as a large wine list, artisan cheeses and snacks. The Bruery has been working on the design and developing layouts. The renovations are estimated to be $175,000 and the store is expected to open in July. The contractor for the project is Anaheim-based Thorpe Construction Inc.
