Linda and Mike Mussallem have donated $5 million to the University of California, Irvine. Funds will support integrative cardiology training and research at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute and a UC systemwide integrative coaching certificate program.
“We recognize the importance of whole-person health for patients who are undergoing cardiovascular treatment journeys and, more importantly, the need for a science-based approach to this aspect of their care,” Linda and Mike Mussallem said in a statement.
Mike Mussallem is chief executive of heart valve maker Edwards Lifesciences Corp., Orange County’s largest publicly traded company with a $54 billion market cap. He also serves as a trustee of the UCI Foundation, while his wife, Linda, is on the advisory board of the Samueli Integrative Health Institute.
