Second Harvest Food Bank CEO Departs

Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County said Chief Executive Harald Herrmann is departing to participate in a private equity transaction that will be announced in the coming weeks.
Board Chair Dave Coffaro will lead the organization until the CEO position is filled.
“I leave this organization in the very capable hands of a talented team of executives with the passion and expertise to progress the food bank’s priorities of universal access to nutritious food and nutrition advocacy,” Herrmann said in a statement.
In 1995, Herrmann helped launch the flagship Yard House, which was bought by Darden Restaurants Inc. where he became president of its Specialty Group that included Seasons 52, Capital Grille and others.
Herrmann joined the food bank in 2019, saying “If not now, when?” The Second Harvest team revamped its distribution center operations to provide 60 million pounds of food in fiscal 2021, a 41% increase from the prior year.
