GEN Restaurant Group to Expand Line of Korean Food Products

Shares of Korean BBQ restaurant operator soar 19% during midday trading

GEN Restaurant Group Inc., the parent company of GEN Korean BBQ, said it will be expanding its consumer product offerings that launched in stores last September and have already reached over 800 supermarkets in the U.S.

In fall 2025, GEN launched four ready-to-cook meats at 31 Pavilions in Southern California and soon after entered 600 Albertsons, Vons and Safeway grocery stores before the end of the year.

The upcoming retail expansion will add more Korean meals, side dishes, sauces, drinks like soju and snacks to the lineup.

“This rapid expansion highlights the incredible consumer demand of the GEN brands and emphasizes the effectiveness of our brand recognition and growth strategy for scaling new products quickly and efficiently,” Chairman and Chief Executive David Kim said in a statement.

Shares surged 19% to $2.04 apiece with a $58 million market cap following the news (Nasdaq: GENK).
