Irvine-based Edwards Lifesciences Corp. appointed Scott Ullem as its new corporate vice president and chief financial officer.
Ullem succeeds Thomas Abate, who is retiring after serving as Edwards’ financial chief since 2006.
He comes to Edwards from Bemis Co., a Neenah, Wis.-based maker of packaging materials. Ullem served as Bemis’ vice president and chief financial officer since 2010.
His background also includes a stint at the investment banking divisions of New York-based Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
