“It’s good to give back to your community because it also gets back around to you,” says communications and branding chief Madison Meehan of Westgroup Designs.
“It sets us apart and it lets people know who we are as a company and what our culture is,” she told the Business Journal. “The community gives so much to us.”
That outreach this year includes money donations, support for OC educational foundations and working with a food bank.
Irvine-based Westgroup is a woman-owned architecture, planning, interior design and branding firm. The CEO is PariSima Hassani, who has built up a practice of both national and international clients and projects.
It is among 50 Orange County companies featured in the Business Journal’s Companies That Care report.
Westgroup’s local projects have included new buildings at the Los Alamitos High School and Google’s shining local headquarters on Jamboree Road in Irvine.
“Our biggest sector is education. We do a lot of K-12, a lot of higher ed. Second biggest would be healthcare,” Meehan told the Business Journal on Dec. 10.
Its clients include City of Hope and Riverside University Health System, and its projects include “civic work” for various cities.
40 Person Team Logs Volunteer Hours
Supporting the local community is part of its strategy, helping the firm to align with its clients.
“Every year we try to reach out to more and more foundations, nonprofits and just work with different organizations in our community to better the area that we live in,” according to Meehan, Westgroup’s branding and communications chief.
In 2025, Westgroup Designs’ 40-person team collectively contributed more than 480 volunteer hours, supporting causes ranging from environmental restoration to food security and youth programs.
The firm made just under $23,000 in outright donations to various causes, according to Meehan.
“We also joined South County Outreach to restock food pantry shelves and will return this season to decorate holiday trees at CHOC Hospital and lead crafts with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tustin,” the firm says.
Local Schools, Bocce Ball Among other projects:
– Ongoing support for the Santa Ana, Los Alamitos and Irvine education foundations strengthens its commitment to local schools and families.
– Competed in the annual Bocce Ball Tournament, playing to support a fund for domestic abuse survivors.
– “We do an annual beach cleanup in our Newport Beach Back Bay. We’ve done that for the past six years in a row,” says Meehan.
Westgroup Designs says its “mission is to better our community through architectural design, interior design, and volunteering for causes that are meaningful.”
“Social responsibility is something we are passionate about, and we hope our actions will create thriving communities which, in turn, change the world,” according to the Westgroup website.
In addition, CEO Hassani serves on the board of the Iranian American Women’s Foundation.
