Irvine-based Yard House USA LLC plans to open four restaurants in four states in 2006, the company said last week.

The restaurants are set for Brea, Kansas City, Kan., Glendale, Ariz., and Las Vegas. It also said it plans to open a restaurant in Waikiki, Oahu, in early 2007. Each restaurant is expected to hire 150 workers.

The restaurant openings are part of the company’s goal “to open three to four units per year,” said founder and Chief Executive Steele Platt, in a release.

Yard House was founded in 1996 and is headed by Platt along with partners Harald Herrmann and Carlito Jocson. It’s a privately-held company that owns and runs Yard House restaurants.

Yard House restaurants are known for their island bars, transparent keg rooms with more than 600 barrels and some 1,000 gallons of beer, and a huge fleet of tap handles,130 to 250,depending on the location.
