Yamaha Motor Corp. USA will bring just about everything but automobiles to the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Cypress-based unit of Yamaha Motor Corp. in Japan plans to showcase its lineup of motorcycles, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, golf cars, electric bikes, wave runners and even crop-dusting drones—as part of a 162,000-square-foot section for custom cars called “The Garage” at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Nov. 18-27 run.
Auto show attendees stopping by Yamaha Motor Corp. USA’s booth will get some extras in keeping with the section’s theme, including the musical stylings of a “garage band,” courtesy of Yamaha Corporation of America, a sister operation based in Buena Park. The musical instruments maker will show off its pro speakers, keyboards, drums and electric and bass guitars.
Yamaha Motor Corp. USA will also participate in “GO,” an exhibition that features “the latest technology devices that embrace all forms of transportation and complement new and traditional vehicles.” It will present an electric wheelchair equipped with its PWseries e-Bike System, which works like a throttle on a motorbike—it adjusts the level of assistance based on the amount of pressure applied to the wheelchair’s hand control, according to Business Manager Joe Klickna.
Yamaha Motor Corp. USA hasn’t forgotten its roots—it also plans to join its peers at the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows at the Long Beach Convention Center from Nov. 18-20.
