Roy Murray (aka the Chipotle is My Life kid) swung a deal with Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) for a new menu item, an “omg I love chipotle” TikTok sound feature users can add to their own videos, and an apparel collaboration.
Murray was captured on video seven years ago expressing his love for the brand in a clip that went viral. His sentiment and face are now screen printed on a T-shirt ($16) and long sleeve ($28) available in the Chipotle Goods online shop where the restaurant operator sells its branded apparel, hats, bags and accessories.
Followers were enthused by the latest apparel offering: The company’s initial post on the Chipotle Is My Life drop garnered nearly 34,000 likes and some 762 comments on its first day.
In more serious news, Chipotle also continues to bolster the perks for employees as work-from-home remains in place.
The company, with more than 2,750 restaurants, said it has linked with Udemy for Business, a virtual, on-demand source of more than 5,500 courses its employees can now access. The platform is being offered to its full-time headquarters employees, executives and restaurant field leaders.
The aim is to maintain the corporate culture as its office staff continues to work from home, making Chipotle one of the more innovative employers in managing through the current work situation.
