• Irvine-based Eyes4Lives Inc. recently named Parham Javaherian chief executive.
It makes the sensor and software product Dr. iCoach, which is designed to help users develop and maintain proper computer habits.
The Business Journal reported last week of the company’s pivot to focus on large corporations due to the rise of corporate wellness programs. The technology was originally developed for optometrists and ophthalmologists to monitor patients.
Javaherian’s role is a new one; Eyes4Lives previously operated without a formal chief executive. He was most recently chief executive of marketing company Practice Builders. He also has private equity experience with Eli Global, which owns Practice Builders.
Eyes4Lives Chief Operating Officer Arie Shen said Javaherian’s background as an “operator and money-savvy guy” can help the company with its latest raise. It’s seeking a $4.5 million Series A.
Founder Roger Wu is chairman.
• Irvine-based Cloudvirga Inc. is ramping up operations following its $50 million Series C round in May. The financing was led by private equity firm Riverwood Capital in Menlo Park. Santa Monica-based Upfront Ventures also participated.
Cloudvirga develops software that speeds up mortgage approval time by automating the initial disclosure process, including income verification and tax documents.
The company is hiring product marketing and sales personnel, according to co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Kyle Kamrooz. It employs about 160.
He said funding will also support more consumer and mobile-facing product development. Cloudvirga has raised $78 million in private capital.
