RESTAURANTS
Irvine-based Habit Restaurants Inc. was up 5% to $39.16 and a $1 billion market cap. The fast-casual burger chain is trading at a higher volume than average after New York City-based Lomas Capital Management disclosed a new, 2.6% stake in Habit in a regulatory filing. The stake is 361,585 shares worth $14.2 million at the midday share price.
HEALTHCARE
Santa Ana-based BioCorRx Inc. was up 8.6% to 8 cents and an $11.3 million market cap. The alcoholism treatment center operator reported revenue of about $275,000 in its first quarter, up 110% compared with the first quarter of 2014, while expenses declined in the quarter by 46% from about $552,000 to $283,000.
