Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 1% to 2,035.99 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.5% to 17,421.25 and the Nasdaq was down 1.3% to 4,709.28.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 1% to 1.81%.

The price of gold rose 1% to 1,292.70.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based storage products maker Western Digital Corp. was down 2.7% to $98.22 and a $22.8 billion market cap in a second day of declines after reports of softness in its sector. Shares were down about 5% yesterday. The company is set to report quarterly earnings today after markets close.

SERVICES

Anaheim-based engineering company Willdan Group Inc. was up 5.1% to $13.36 and a $102 million market cap after analysts at Wedbush Securities raised their rating on the stock from “neutral” to “outperform.”
