Clean Energy Fuels Corp., which specializes in supplying renewable natural gas made from dairy farm wastes, said today that Clay Corbus has been appointed president and chief executive officer, effective immediately (Nasdaq: CLNE).
Corbus has been on the company’s senior leadership team for nearly two decades, with duties including corporate strategy and oversight of M&A activities. Previously, he served as co-CEO of WR Hambrecht + Co., the firm that managed Clean Energy’s 2007 IPO.
He succeeds Andrew Littlefair, Clean Energy Fuels’ co-founder and CEO who has been at the helm of the Newport Beach-based company for 30 years. Littlefair will transition from his executive role to serve the company as a non-employee government relations consultant. He will continue to serve on Clean Energy’s Board of Directors.
Shares in Clean Energy Fuels fuel fell 5% to $2.36 apiece for a market cap of $517 million today.
