The S&P 500 rose 0.60% to 1,885.90 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.46% to 16,396.08 and the Nasdaq rose 0.85% to 4,249.62.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 2.32% to 2.23%.
The price of gold was up 0.40% to $1,234.40.
APPAREL
Orange County apparel companies were up on sector strength and a stock market rebound after three days of down trading, and led by small cap stocks in textiles, apparel and luxury goods.
Huntington Beach-based Quiksilver Inc. was up 16% to $1.82 to a market cap of $308.1 million. Irvine-based Tilly’s Inc. was up 1.6% to $7.01 to a market cap of $196.8 million. Anaheim-based Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. was up 2.9% to a market cap of $122.6 million. Foothill Ranch-based Wet Seal Inc. was up 8.7% to 50 cents and a market cap of $42.2 million.
