Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.4% to 3,078.90 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose 0.4% to 27,447.65.

The Nasdaq increased 0.6% to 8,433.27.

The yield on a 10-year bond surged 3% to 1.78%.

Crude oil jumped 1.5% to $57.05 a barrel.

Gold was flat at $1,512 an ounce.

HEALTHCARE

Newport Beach-based Evolus, Inc. (Nasdaq: EOLS) decreased 5.6% to $15.05 and a $414 million market cap, down from a spike earlier in the day. Today, the company reported financial results for the third quarter, its first full quarter as a publicly traded company, with its Botox rival product Jeuveau generating $13.2 million in quarterly revenue. The company, which launched the wrinkle-fighting neurotoxin in May, cut its net losses from $38 million in the second quarter to $27 million during the third quarter.

TECHNOLOGY

Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) in Irvine was down 3.4% to $95.92 and a $6.1 billion market cap. Shares for the maker of data analytics software, currently trading at about a third of their daily average, are still up 80% from year-ago levels. The company reported third quarter revenue of about $103 million last Thursday, a 65% jump.
