Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.1% in midday trading to 2,823.77.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also declined 0.1% to 25,570.55.

The Nasdaq rose 0.2% to 7,655.26.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond plunged 2.3% to 2.27%.

The price of gold was 0.5% lower to $1,277.

The price of oil climbed 1.3% to $59.39 a barrel.

FINANCE

First American Financial Corp. (NYSE: FAF) was down 4.5% to $52.79 and a $5.9 billion market cap. The Santa Ana-based title and specialty insurance services firm said at the end of last week that a design defect affecting its website may have leaked customer data.

RESTAURANTS

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) in Newport Beach rose 2.6% to $679.62 and an $18.9 billion market cap. Shares are recovering somewhat after an analyst downgrade and 4% decline in price last week. Shares have risen about 52% year-to-date.
