Indexes rose strongly in midday trading as the market rebounded from losses earlier this week.
The S&P 500 rose 1.9% to 2,706.03; Dow Jones Industrial Average 1.6% to 24,985.81; and the Nasdaq 2.8% to 7,303.56.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was 0.5% higher at 3.14%.
The price of gold was flat at $1,231.
REAL ESTATE
CoreLogic Inc. (NYSE: CLGX) in Irvine fell 5.8% to $40.84 and a $3.3 billion market cap. The company, which provides real estate analysis, today reported third quarter revenue and profit that missed analysts’ consensus estimates.
TECHNOLOGY
Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) climbed 7.9% to $46.17 and a $2.8 billion market cap. The Irvine-based data analytics software maker’s shares are up two-thirds year-to-date; it reports quarterly results Nov. 7.
FINANCE
First Foundation Inc. (Nasdaq: FFWM) was 4.5% higher to $15.71 and a $697 million market cap. The Irvine-based company, which is a bank and wealth manager, on Oct. 23 reported revenue and earnings that beat analysts’ consensus estimates.
