Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.9% in midday trading to 2,588.62.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was also up 0.9%, to 23,479.47.

The Nasdaq jumped 1.5% to 6,803.95.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond hiked 0.9% to 2.36%.

The price of gold rose 0.7% to $1,278.

TECHNOLOGY

Veritone Inc. (Nasdaq: VERI) in Costa Mesa was up 5% to $28.30 and a $423 million market cap. The media and artificial intelligence company plans to sell up to $23.4 million in stock—920,000 shares at $25.46 a share, including 120,000 shares for over-allotments—a filing yesterday shows. Veritone went public in May at $15 and has traded as high as about $75 since then.

HEALTHCARE

ChromaDex Corp. (Nasdaq: CDXC) in Irvine was up 9.6% to $6.53 and a $315 million market cap. The ingredients maker is up 23% on the week; it’s scheduled to close a $23 million private placement tomorrow.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was up 9.1% to $13.83 and a $368 million market cap. The western wear chain is up 18% in two days, following a JP Morgan upgrade to “overweight” price target hike to $17.
