Veritone Inc. (NASDAQ: VERI) in Newport Beach was down 20% to $52.60 and a $784 million market cap. Shares in the media and artificial intelligence provider had risen seven-fold in the last five weeks. Share volume at midday was 12 times higher than average.
Acacia Research Corp. (NASDAQ: ACTG) in Newport Beach was down 8% to $4.65 and a $235 million market cap. Acacia, which primarily licenses patents, owns 30% of Veritone. Acacia share volume by midday was six times higher than average.
