Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.5% in midday trading to 2,458.32.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2% to 21,899.61.

The NASDAQ was up 1% to 6,367.25.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.2% to 2.14%.

The price of gold was down 0.4% to $1,314.

MANUFACTURING

Terra Tech Corp. (OTC: TRTC) in Irvine was up 10.5% to 25 cents and a $163 million market cap. The company, which sells hydroponic growing equipment and cannabis-oriented produce and herbs, said it plans to buy 50% of NuLeaf Reno Production LLC, which holds a medical cannabis license in Nevada and is building a 30,000-square-foot cultivation facility there.

TECHNOLOGY

Veritone Inc. (NASDAQ: VERI) in Irvine was up 8.4% to $16.30 and a $244 million market cap. Shares in the artificial intelligence-focused company are up 25% in the last two trading sessions after it said San Jose-based Quantum Corp. (NYSE: QTM) launched a product using Veritone technology.
