REAL ESTATE
CalAtlantic Group Inc. in Irvine declined 5.3% to $36.05 and a $4 billion market cap. The home builder and developer reported quarterly revenue that met analyst expectations but net income that did not.
RESTAURANTS
BJ’s Restaurants Inc. in Huntington Beach was down 1.2% to $33.83 and a $731 million market cap. The casual dining chain missed analyst expectations on revenue and income; shares fell about 7% this week in sessions prior to its report yesterday after markets closed.
Del Taco Restaurants Inc. in Lake Forest rose 5% to $13.36 and a $515 million market cap. Quarterly revenue and net income each grew about 9%; same store sales were about 7%. Del Taco said limited time offers and its revamped breakfast menu drove results.
SERVICES
Acacia Research Group Corp. in Newport Beach was down 14.5% to $3.55 and a $180 million market cap. The patent servicing company reported quarterly revenue of $16.5 million, down from $41.4 million last year.
