Santa Ana-based device maker Irvine Scientific acquired Rome, Italy-based Biocare Europe S.R.l, a distributor of in vitro fertilization devices, media and equipment, on undisclosed terms.
Irvine Scientific makes devices
used in the biopharmaceutical industry.
It said Biocare is a market leader in
“assisted reproduction” and that Europe’s in vitro fertilization market is the
world’s biggest and is projected for growth.
