Aliso Viejo-based Chronic Tacos Mexican Grill continues to see growth, with a recent push into Texas following one in Asia.
The Montgomery location is its first in the state and comes after an expansion into Japan through a franchisee deal. The space is in Tokyo’s Ginza District and is part of a 10-year deal with Chronic Tacos.
The company is now in 10 states, including Japan and Canada. It opened nine locations so far this year, with another three scheduled before year’s end.
Executives project 15 new locations to open next year.
Chronic Tacos ranked No. 33 on the Business Journal’s list of the largest restaurant chains here. The company had sales in 2018 of $34.9 million across 59 doors. That’s up 18% from a year earlier.
