Reginald Gilyard, dean of Chapman University’s George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics, announced plans to step down at the end of the academic year in May to pursue his passions of helping low-income people and working on military veterans issues.
The university said a committee will conduct a national search to replace him.
Gilyard was appointed dean in 2012 and previously served as partner and managing director in the Los Angeles office of Boston Consulting Group, a $5 billion global management consulting company.
He noted that the Argyros School was “top-ranked in both California and on the West Coast” by Bloomberg BusinessWeek; its national ranking by the magazine, No. 34, is its highest ever.
Gilyard earned a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a master’s from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Harvard University.
