ADDENDUM

AMUSEMENT

The Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Southern California annual pass has been revived at a price of $459 after a two-year hiatus on new sales. It’s not valid for Saturdays, holidays and some Sundays and days in summer.

EDUCATION

Saddleback College President Tod Burnett plans to step down in June. The South Orange County Community College planned a search to replace him at the school in Mission Viejo. Burnett was hired in 2008 from the California Community Colleges chancellor’s office, where he’d been appointed vice chancellor by then-California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. He’d been Schwarzenegger’s deputy appointments secretary and held a presidential appointment with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a mayoral appointment as a Los Angeles public works commissioner.

Chapman University named Microsemi Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive James Peterson to its board of trustees. Board members support the university’s vision and mission, provide insight and guidance on academic and administrative programs, participate in fundraising, and help develop partnerships that enhance education programs. They hold three-year terms.

FINANCE

Irvine-based Banc of California named J. Francisco Turner co-principal financial officer, effective immediately. He will work alongside outgoing Chief Financial Officer James McKinney for the next 60 days. The bank said it’s “consolidating” finance operations under Turner and Chief Investment Officer Brian Kuelbs. McKinney resigned last week to move to Chicago for personal reasons and family needs, the bank said, effective on or before Nov. 18, but he will help the bank file its annual report, which is due within 90 days following Dec. 31.

MEDIA

The Orange County Register’s headquarters will move to Anaheim in March. Newsroom and business staff will relocate to a creative-office redevelopment called Axis at 2190 Towne Centre Place near Angel Stadium. Register Publisher Ron Hasse said the newspaper will continue through April at its current headquarters at 625 N. Grand Ave. in Santa Ana, a facility owned by developer Mike Harrah. The printing operations eventually will move to plants in Riverside and on Lewis Street in Anaheim.

RESTAURANTS

Revived Mexican-style fast-food chain Naugles said it plans to open more locations throughout North America, starting with OC spots. The expansion will come through franchising and company-owned locations in a mix of drive-thrus and food court locations. Christian Ziebarth took control of the Naugles trademark last year from Del Taco.

SERVICES

Santa Ana-based security firm Allied Universal acquired on undisclosed terms Apollo International in Walpole, Mass. Allied Universal said Apollo is the 13th largest security company in the country and has customers in 29 states. It had annual revenue of $88 million for its most recent fiscal year and employs 3,400 companywide. The acquisition comes after Allied Universal was created by the August merger of Universal Services of America in Santa Ana with AlliedBarton Security Services in Conshohocken, Pa.

SPORT

Anaheim city council members told the International Olympic Committee that venues such as Angels Stadium and the Honda Center would be open for use for Olympic events if Los Angeles is named the host city of the 2024 Games, the Orange County Register reported. The commitment, outlined in a letter to committee President Thomas Bach, signals that the effort to win the Games has broadened from L.A. County only to include venues elsewhere in the region.

OTHER

The Board of Harbor Commissioners appointed Duane Kenagy interim chief executive of the Port of Long Beach to replace Jon Slangerup, who is leaving Oct. 28 to become chief executive of an aviation technology company in Canada. Kenagy joined the port in 2014. Port officials said he wouldn’t be a candidate for permanent appointment.
