Two OC firms team to buy a Riverside facility, and will move their operations there

Two manufacturers will relocate their factories and headquarters from Fullerton to Riverside, where they have purchased an industrial building together.

Signature Vending Systems and Hacienda Furniture formed a joint venture and purchased a 103,000-square-foot industrial building at 990 Palmyrita Ave., said Craig Yocum of Delmar Commercial Real Services in Rancho Cucamonga, whose company negotiated the deal.

The companies purchased the property from Standard Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, for an undisclosed sum. Standard Register operated a commercial printing business there until 1998.

About 65 jobs will be moved to the new facility initially, but the building could house up to 200 people within three years, officials said.

The firms have not merged, but rather formed a joint venture solely to purchase the building, Yocum said.

Signature Vending Systems makes electronic, refrigerated soft drink, snack and pharmaceutical machines, while Hacienda Furniture manufactures leather sofas.
