TriZetto Group Inc., Newport Beach, acquired Infotrust Co., a healthcare information technology company, from Trustco Holdings Inc. TriZetto bought Infotrust for shares valued at $12.5 million to $13.5 million as of last week.
Acquiring Infotrust will expand TriZetto’s market position among healthcare payers, said Chief Executive Jeffrey Margolis in a release. Margolis also cited Infotrust’s knowledge of Amisys, an administrative software program, business outsourcing capabilities and understanding of remotely hosted software application services as assets for his company.
Infotrust is based in Waukegan, Ill. The company had approximately $12 million in revenue last year. Besides Amisys, Infotrust also provides McKesson HBOC software applications for physician profiling, quality reporting, patient-care management and clinical auditing.
TriZetto hosts and licenses software to the healthcare industry, along with providing platforms for customers to transact business over the Internet. The company says it has approximately 600 customers.
