Irvine-based MTI Technology Corp. saw sluggish sales and wider losses during the quarter ending Oct. 1, the company said Monday.
The company posted sales of $31.6 million during the quarter, flat from the year-ago period and down 20% from the prior quarter.
MTI, which resells data storage products from investor EMC Corp., had warned in October it expected revenue of $30 million to $33 million.
Net losses grew to $4.1 million in the quarter compared to a $3.6 million net loss during the prior quarter and a $3 million loss during the year-ago period.
MTI posted an operating loss of $3.5 million,at the low end of its October outlook.
Last month, MTI said it was hurt by sales delays in parts of Europe and the Southeastern part of the U.S.
MTI sells data management software from EMC.
It’s been in a tough year for MTI.
In March, the company lost three board members amid a battle for control of Lindon, Utah-based Canopy Group Inc., the investment company started by former Novell Inc. chief executive Ray Noorda.
Two of the MTI directors resigned on March 10. The third, Huntington Beach’s Valerie Noorda Kreidel, Noorda’s daughter, shot herself on March 17, according to the Orange County Coroner.
In a regulatory filing Monday, the company said it had terminated the employment of Jon Caputo, former executive vice president, worldwide operations.
