RETIREMENT ATTITUDES
Nationwide survey of 803 people ages 50 to 75 by Peter D. Hart Research Associates
Four out of 10 older workers said they plan to work at another job after retiring. But only 18% of those who want to continue working said they would do it for the money. Sixty-five percent said they viewed retirement as a time to begin a new chapter in life, while only 28% said they saw it as a time to relax and enjoy leisure activities. Fifty-five percent of those questioned were retired; the rest still were working. Twenty percent of retirees said they still hold paying jobs.
