Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp. said Tuesday it was creating a Los Angeles division.
The homebuilder said the move was part of its bid to build more high-density, urban developments,a strategic shift embraced by many builders as land gets tighter in Southern California.
Standard has maintained offices in Los Angeles for some time. It’s now stepping up its L.A. focus with the creation of the division.
The company named Alan Boeker as L.A. division president. He’s helped coordinate the company’s building in Playa Vista, a new development in West Los Angeles with a mix of small houses and condominiums.
