Edison International was named an education partner by Chapman University in recognition of its $50,000 pledge to support the school’s scholarship fundraising and educational outreach efforts in the coming year.

Marie Callender’s Restaurants was title sponsor of the 7th annual Canning Hunger Run and a gold sponsor of the 6th annual Association of Orange County’s Memory Walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Association of OC.

The Irvine Co. awarded nine school principals $3,500 each in recognition of their leadership, creativity and excellence in local schools. Honorees included: Elizabeth Friedrich, Christine Gregg and Karla Wells of Tustin Unified School District; Greg Cops, Jean Mylen and Thomas Perrie of Irvine Unified School District; and Allan Mucerino, Sharon Fry and Donald Martin of Newport-Mesa Unified School District.

Scan Healthcare, Long Beach, donated $5,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County’s annual Memory Walk in the name of Dr. Cordula Dick-Muehlke, executive director of Adult Day Services of Orange County, in recognition of her volunteer activities with the Alzheimer’s Association.

AirTouch Cellular donated 15 Audiovox wireless phones and three years of air time to Trabuco Hills High School.

ARV Assisted Living, Costa Mesa, donated $5,000 to the Orange County Red Cross to support the Adopt-a-Day of Disaster Relief program. In addition, PacifiCare donated $25,000 to the organization.

St. Joseph Ballet, Santa Ana, received an SAT/PSAT testing program from Scholastic Testing Systems.

Seabreeze Management Co., Aliso Viejo, sponsored a team in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure.

The Laguna Beach Film Festival, sponsored by the Exchange Club of Laguna Beach, raised almost $100,000 for local charities working to prevent child abuse, including Community Service Programs Youth Shelter, Laura’s House Educational Center, the Child Abuse Service Team and the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center.

The Joe MacPherson Auto Group, Tustin, reached its $2 million goal in its Help Our Schools drive. Funds have been used for software, books and sports equipment for area schools.

Television and stage celebrity Anne Jeffreys emceed the 4th annual Angels of the Food Industries Circle Fashion Show, which raised $125,000 for medical research and treatment at the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute. In addition, employees of HomeBase, Irvine, raised $218,000 to benefit City of Hope and Beckman Research Institute.

Deloitte & Touche contributed $5,000 to Girls Inc.’s Investing in Girls conference. The firm also provided a $3,500 sponsorship for the Assessment Treatment and Service Center’s Concours d’Elegance held at Pelican Hill Golf Course in Newport Beach.
