Michael Jordan, general manager of Pinot Provence, one of OC’s most highly regarded restaurants, has resigned to take the same post at the Grand Napa restaurant in the under-construction Grand Californian hotel at the Disneyland Resort.
Jordan said he’s making the move because Disney officials told him their goal is for the Grand Napa “to be the finest restaurant that Disney owns worldwide.”
Jordan has led the Joachim Splichal-owned Pinot Provence since it opened in August 1998. Before that, he founded the Bella Teresa restaurant in Corona del Mar. Jordan is a second-generation restaurateur: his parents ran Matteo’s in Corona del Mar.
The Grand Californian is being built by the Walt Disney Co. as part of its California Adventure theme park being built adjacent to Disneyland and set to open in February.
