California State University, Fullerton, named alumna and Yorba Linda resident Susan Katsaros as director of community relations. Katsaros has been a member of the public affairs and government relations staff at the university since 1995.
INSURANCE
Aon Consulting, part of Chicago-based Aon Corp., named Mark Mathias senior vice president and office leader at its Irvine office.
FINANCE
First American Trust, a unit of Santa Ana-based title insurer First American Corp., promoted R. Daniel Banis from executive vice president to president. Lawrence A. Fried was added as director of operations and finance for the emerging markets program at First American.
LAW
Alexander Lee was elected partner at the Costa Mesa office of Los Angeles-based law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. Lee specializes in international corporate transactions.
St. Louis-based Bryan Cave LLP named James P. Kousoulas partner. Kousoulas joined in 1999 and currently practices at the firm’s Irvine office.
Thomas E. Walling was named an associate at the Newport Beach office of Spach, Capaldi and Waggaman LLP.
MEDIA
The Times Community News, a division of the Los Angeles Times, promoted Tony Dodero to general manager of online for Times Community News overseeing Web sites for its eight sister newspapers. Dodero previously was editor of the Daily Pilot. S. J. Cahn was named editor of the Daily Pilot, and two weeklies: the Huntington Beach Independent and Laguna Beach Coastline Pilot.
NONPROFIT
Leslie Davis Dods was named manager at the CHOC Padrinos, a fund-raising group for Children’s Hospital of Orange County and CHOC at Mission. Dods previously was director of community relations for Pacific Choral.
The Alzheimer’s Assoc-iation, OC chapter, appointed Beverly Newton to its board. The group is the primary funding source for the association’s research and support services. Newton, president at Meridian Performance Consulting Inc., is a member of the Professional Coaches and Mentoring Association. Patty Barnett Mouton was appointed as the association’s director of education and public policy.
Scott Trotter was named chief operating officer at the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Orange.
REAL ESTATE
Martin Potts & Associates Inc., a real estate development consulting company in Newport Beach, named Greg Holcomb as vice president. Holcomb most recently was project executive at Irvine’s Snyder Langston.
Wendy Huang joined the management office of Irvine-based real estate investor and developer Crown Realty & Development as general counsel and executive vice president.
Kellie Peterson was promoted from area manager to regional vice president at Western National Property Management Inc., a unit of Western National Group in Irvine. Peterson has been with the company since 1987.
SPORTS
Anaheim Arena Management LLC, the company that manages the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim hockey team, added 10 people and promoted two: Marty Breen as controller; Mindy Sustacek as hospitality manager; Troy Naragon as IT associate; Adam Brady as publications manager; Gloria Steinert as director of web development; Matt Wiech as sponsorship sales manager; Adam Ainbinder as senior financial analyst; Mary Enriquez as manager of ticket operations; David Maske as PondVision editor and producer; and Jamie Minkler as marketing coordinator. Chris Williams was promoted to box office supervisor and Annabell Findley to receptionist.
TECHNOLOGY
Leonard S. Johnson was appointed vice president of strategic al-liances and corporate development at Irvine-based CD and DVD replication services company DiskFaktory, a unit of Innovative Diversified Technologies Inc.

The Costa Mesa Conference & Visitor Bureau appointed the following people to its board: Tom Smalley, general manager of the Wyndham Orange County, as president; Debbie Snavely, general manager of the Costa Mesa Marriott, as vice president; Mike Hall, general manager of The Westin South Coast Plaza as treasurer; and Tom Van Winkle, general manager of Holiday Inn Costa Mesa, as secretary.
