Advertising

DGWB Advertising, Santa Ana, promoted Dave Swartz and Enzo Cesario to co-creative directors. Prior to joining DGWB, Swartz was senior copywriter for Mullen Advertising in Wenham, Mass. Previously, Cesario was a partner at The Central Agency.

Aiko Nakakihara was named traffic coordinator for Newport Beach-based Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder. Nakakihara will direct job flow through the creative and production departments and in-house studio. Prior to joining the agency, Nakakihara was a marketing assistant at TimeSaver Software, Tustin.


Architecture

HNTB Corp. hired Steven B. Morris as vice president in the firm’s West division aviation practice. The 20-year industry veteran will be based in the Irvine office. Prior to joining the firm, Morris was with Bechtel Infrastructure where he managed airport projects in North America and Europe.


Banking and Finance

E-Commerce Exchange, Irvine, named Steve Eazell vice president of agent relations. The 18-year industry veteran will be responsible for growing the company’s agent network. Previously, Eazell was a business development executive for eFunds Corp.


Biomedical

NeoTherapeutics Inc., Irvine, named Frank Chiu, Ph.D. director of biostatistics and data management. Chiu’s new responsibilities include directing efficacy and safety analyses for upcoming trials. Prior to joining the firm, Chiu was with Ligand Pharmaceuticals and Allergan.


Insurance

Irvine-based D.L.D. Insurance Brokers added Laurette Stang to its staff of insurance professionals. Previously, Stang was with Marsh-Los Angeles, where she managed the commercial surety unit.


Marketing and Public Relations

Michael C. Kilroy joined Maples Communications Inc., Irvine, as senior account executive. The 12-year industry veteran will supervise a full account team. Previously, Kilroy was with Les Goldberg Public Relations, where he was an account manager.

Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, promoted Brian McLeod to director of business development. The 25-year industry veteran will oversee strategic product development and marketing efforts.

Dula Image Group, South Coast Metro, appointed Jennifer Elsesser Robb associate manager of design. Robb comes to the firm from Einhorn Design where she was senior designer for client accounts.

Irvine-based Specialized Marketing Services Inc. hired three executives: Mike Shudak, senior vice president of finance; Rick Wedeking, vice president of strategic business development; and Wilma Yowell, senior vice president of sales and marketing. Shudak was most recently senior vice president, finance and administration at FCB Worldwide in Costa Mesa. Wedeking comes to the firm from Direct Advertising Response in Huntington Beach, and Yowell was previously regional vice president for sales and marketing, special markets group, for Harte-Hanks Communications, publisher of the PennySaver.


Organizations

The Orange City Council announced the creation of two foundations: the Community Foundation and the Public Library Foundation. Community Foundation board members include: Rhoda Anderson, Bank of America; Vince Ferragamo, Touchdown Real Estate; Manny Torrez, Bank of Orange County; Gaye Soroka, Waste Management of Orange County; Tim Paone, The Irvine Co.; and Jerry Wooden, Coca Cola Co. In addition, the following people were appointed to the Public Library Foundation board: Robert Holland, retired attorney; Michael Learakos, Katella Grill; Phyllis Cahill, St. Joseph Health System; Jonell Schlund, Business Solutions; Jackie Slater, Fox Sports; and Gaddi Vasquez, Edison International.

Deborah Johnson of Newport Beach and Sylvia Moore of Costa Mesa were named 2001 California Pharmacists Association of trustees.


Real Estate

Insignia/ESG promoted Michael Bennett to managing director for property services in Orange and San Diego counties. In addition, the firm promoted three other executives: Steve Claton was promoted to regional director for the industrial portfolio with the newly created Irvine Office Properties division; Steve Core was promoted to general manager of the Irvine Office Properties portfolio; and Carol Olander was named associate director of property management for Orange and San Diego counties’ general portfolio.


TECHNOLOGY

Newport Beach-based Net-Strike Worldwide promoted Richard Newman to vice president of people and administration. In his new role, Newman will establish and oversee community programs for the firm.

John Stillwell joined iStarXchange Inc., Irvine, as vice president of sales and business development. Stillwell will direct the original equipment and aftermarket service parts channels. Previously, Stillwell was with Applied Computer Solutions, where he was vice president of sales and service.


TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Mobile Wireless Technologies, Anaheim, hired Mark Ramsaier as chief operating officer. Prior to joining the firm, Ramsaier held senior management roles with multiple leading technology firms for 30 years.


UTILITIES

Jan Flory was reappointed division 10 representative to the OC Water District board of directors by THE Fullerton City Council. Flory is a past mayor of Fullerton.
