Donahue Schriber Names EVP/CFO

Newport Beach-based Donahue Schriber, a real estate investment trust, named Lawrence P. Casey executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The San Diego resident will bring his accounting and operational experience to his new post, in which he will direct Schriber’s growth. Casey’s responsibilities also will include overseeing information technology and administrative operations. Casey replaces Brian McGowen, who left to join the Koll Co.

“We are looking for continued growth of $60 million to $80 million a year in assets,” said Casey. “I plan to implement the strategies that had been in place before my arrival.”

Prior to joining Donahue Schriber, Casey directed asset management for San Diego-based National Advisors as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Casey was also previously an audit manager for the Orange County office of Deloitte & Touche.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BA in accounting, Casey is the husband of Valerie Jean d’Heur, formerly of Deloitte & Touche, and the father of two children.

He played rugby for several years after graduating, he said, but has since moved on to golf.

Architecture

Santa Ana-based Tait & Associates Inc. appointed Leslie Burnside project manager for San Diego. Prior to joining Tait, Burnside was territory gasoline manager for 7-Eleven, and has expertise in environmental management and development. In addition, Christina Price became construction manager for Tait. Price was previously construction superintendent for 7-Eleven.

Gary Simmons was promoted to associate at Newport Beach-based Taylor & Associates Architects. Simmons joined Taylor as an architect in 1994.

Banking and Finance

Cannon Electric FCU added Sandra Bustamante as branch manager of its Santa Ana main office.

Construction

Marc Offit became senior vice president of business development for Struxicon, Newport Beach. Before joining Struxicon, Offit was senior vice president of e-business development at General Growth Properties Inc.

HomeBase Inc, Irvine, promoted Steven G. Bowen to vice president and treasurer.

John G. Yegge and Erwin Seifert were named project managers at Andrew L. Youngquist Construction, Costa Mesa. Yegge will direct the management of commercial construction projects, while Seifert will be responsible for construction management of multi-family and assisted-living projects.

Education

The University of California, Irvine, named Debra J. Richardson an associate professor, chair of its department of information and computer sciences.

Laura L. Rovner joined the faculty of Western State University College of Law, Fullerton. Rovner previously taught at Syracuse University College of Law.

Concordia University, Irvine, appointed Alan Rudi vice president of business operations and chief financial officer. Rudi previously was president of Learning Excelerator LLC and senior vice president of marketing for Experian Information Solutions.

Engineering

George A. Wentz joined Berryman & Henigar, Santa Ana, as senior vice president. Wentz has experience working with federal, state, and local government in managerial and operational capacities.

Food Services

The National Nutritional Foods Association, Newport Beach, named David R Seckman executive director and CEO. Before joining NNFA, Seckman was vice president for regulatory affairs at the American Health Care Association.

Marie Callender’s Pie Shops Inc., Orange, promoted Allen Batty to vice president of franchise operations.

Golden State Foods promoted Michael L. Waitukaitis to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Waitukaitis worked in the company’s corporate development office prior to the promotion.

Russell Skall joined Fleming’s Prime Steak House & Wine Bar, Newport Beach, as executive chef.

El Pollo Loco, Irvine, named Paul Meese director of human resources. Prior to joining El Pollo Loco, Meese was the director of human resources and operational support for Bugle Boy Industries.

Healthcare

PacifiCare Health Systems, Santa Ana, hired Marie K. Connell as senior manager of public relations. Before joining PacifiCare, Connell handled media relations at Pacific Life Insurance Co. In addition, Ericka Rickman joined PacifiCare as vice president of sales and marketing for Medicare and the Choice HMO plan. Rickman was vice president of business process improvement at Cigna Healthcare for Seniors.

Industrial

Endural, Costa Mesa, promoted Sue Sherman to general manager. Previously a sales manager, Sherman has been with Endural for 20 years.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Brian T. Norman was hired as an administrative assistant for Orange-based Strata-Media Marketing. Norman is a former writer for the Los Angeles Times.

Organizations

Jeff Zakaryan was named president of the Orange County chapter of the Professional Coaches & Mentors Association.

Technology

Netgui, Irvine, appointed David Fournier acting chief executive officer. Fournier was senior vice president of sales, marketing, and field operations for Peerless Systems Corp.

Electronic Lightwave Inc. promoted Valarie Kimble to regional general manager of Southern California operations. Kimble will continue to hold her position as manager of Lightwave’s Los Angeles branch.

Priority Pay Inc., Newport Beach, appointed Robert Acosta vice president of sales and marketing.

Vicki MacLachlan was named corporate controller at Sonance, San Clemente. MacLachlan most recently held financial management positions at Endevco Corp.

Irvine-based Wyle Electronics appointed John Curran vice president of strategic account sales. For the past three years, Curran handled semiconductor sales for Wyle. In addition, Kris Burgoon was promoted to regional vice president of the firm’s Southwest region. Burgoon was formally a marketing director.

Odetics Broadcast, Anaheim, named Andy Stanton director for Asia.

Kore, Newport Beach, added John Baughn as director of system architecture and Dennis Williams as director of development.
