ARCHITECTURE
Antonio Castro joined EwingCole Inc. as the head of mechanical engineering at its Irvine office. Castro previously was department manager for mechanical engineering at Fundament & Associates in Irvine.
Mitra Esfandiari was promoted to senior associate at the Costa Mesa office of Perk-owitz+Ruth Architects. Esfandiari joined the Orange County office in 1994 as a designer/job captain and was promoted to associate in 1998.
BANKING
Vineyard Bank, a subsidiary of Vineyard National Bancorp, added to its Irvine office Balaji Krishna as vice president and senior relationship manager, and Lindsay Pavlik-Lawrence as relationship manager. Krishna previously was vice president and relationship manager of Commercial Capital Bank’s Newport Coast office. Pavlik-Lawrence also was at the Newport Coast office as a private banker.
CONSTRUCTION
McCarthy Building Cos. hired Jocelyn Topolski as director of business development, education services for its Southern California division in Newport Beach. Prior to joining, Topolski was business development, marketing and public relations director for WWCOT Architects.
EDUCATION
David Bailey was named vice chancellor for health affairs at the University of California, Irvine, effective April 1. Bailey currently is interim vice chancellor for health sciences and interim dean of the school of medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
INSURANCE
SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services LLC in Irvine hired Dan Vaughan as senior vice president. Prior to joining, Vaughan was senior vice president of Marsh Risk & Insurance Services in Newport Beach.
NONPROFIT
The American Cancer Society, Orange County region, added four members to its regional council: Russell Bennett, vice president of Latino health solutions at PacifiCare Health Systems Inc.; Geoffrey Coar, vice president of Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group in Orange County; Marsha Fink, private physician; and Grant Freeman, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Makar Properties LLC.
Irvine-based Families Forward, a nonprofit that helps low-income and homeless families in need, appointed three board members: Ralph Spargo, vice president of product development for Standard Pacific Homes; Dan Foy, chief financial officer of Liberty Photo Products; and Lydia Levin, a longtime supporter.
Nicky Delanty-Gris-mer, a Wells Fargo premier banking sales manager for the Orange County region, was elected as a board member for Laura’s House, a comprehensive domestic violence agency based in San Juan Capistrano.
REAL ESTATE
Buchanan Street Partners, a real estate investment bank, hired three people at its Newport Beach office: Mike Huntley as vice president, Michael Hurst as vice president and Marco Vartanian as assistant vice president of investment sales.
Peter Castleton was named chairman of the international committee for Corfac International, an organization of privately held entrepreneurial commercial real estate firms. Castleton is a broker at the Anaheim office of Voit Commercial Brokerage LP, which is a member.
IndyMac Bank, part of Pasadena-based IndyMac Bancorp Inc., hired two people at its wholesale lending division in Irvine: Terry Anderson and Nadia Malek as business development managers.
ResMae Mortgage Corp. in Brea appointed Brian Morgenstern as regional vice president for Southern California. Morgenstern previously was assistant vice president and branch production manager for Option One Mortgage Corp.
Westar Associates, a real estate development company based in Costa Mesa, named Jud Dutrisac as a partner. Prior to joining, Dutrisac was at Grubb & Ellis for five years.
RETAIL
Tiffany & Co. South Coast Plaza hired James Goudreault as market merchandise manager. Goudreault previously worked in management at Salvatore Ferragamo for five years.
TOURISM
The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau named four people to its board: Carolyn Kehler of Knott’s Southern California Resort, Matt McDermid of GES Exposition Services, Shaun Robinson of Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa and Barbara Sloate of Whirlaround Destination Management Services.
