NeoTherapeutics, Irvine, appointed Rajesh C. Shrotriya, MD, president. Shrotriya brings 29 years of experience in neurology and oncology at Bristol-Meyers, SuperGen and MGI to the OC company.


Organizations

The Orange County chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners installed its board members. Deirdre Kelly, president; Susan Johnson president -elect; Alice Lei, vice president, administration; Kerry Larsen, vice president, marketing and membership; Carol Rolling, vice president, fund development; Cathy Daugherty, vice president, public policies; Susan Miranda, secretary; and Diana Mailly, treasurer.


Real Estate

Valerie Nickerson was promoted to vice president of Western Business Centers Inc. in Irvine. Nickerson, a nine-year company veteran, previously worked with commercial leasing, marketing and management for the OC company.

Century 21 By The Sea added Suzy Casey to its fine homes and estates division in Corona del Mar. Casey holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and is a former director of development for the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and California State University, Fullerton.

Donald J. Trapani joined the Western region office of USAA Realty Co., Irvine. Trapani will work from the company’s San Diego office as director of real estate services.

Coreland Carlson, Tustin, promoted Kathie J. Sitton to vice president-controller and Steven J. Hogberg to vice president of leasing investment sales. The firm also hired Yukie Meyers as its regional property manager. Sitton was previously director of treasury operations at Koll Management Services Inc. Hogberg previously held positions with AIP Commercial Brokerage and Bishop Hawk of Southern California and Meyers was previously general manager with Compass Management and Leasing.


Retail

Marie Callender’s Pie Shops Inc. promoted Thomas F. Van Gilder to vice president of operations support. Van Gilder, who has been with the company for 11 years, previously was director of operations, planning and research for the Orange-based company.

WebCaskets.com Inc., Newport Beach, named Gregory L. Cauthen president and CEO and elected him to the company’s board of directors. Alex A. Frost, co-founder of WebCaskets and the previous CEO, will continue as chairman of the board of directors and will assume the title of senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Lisa Duncan was appointed director of human resources and training for Pick Up Stix, San Clemente. She will oversee hiring, benefits administration, training, employee relations, legal compliance and risk management for the restaurant company’s 50 locations.

Krause’s Furniture Inc., Brea, promoted Elizabeth A. Galliher to the new position of chief information officer. Galliher, formerly vice president of information systems, was also named executive vice president. Galliher is a 15-year information systems veteran.


Technology

Refractec Inc., Irvine, a medical technology and research firm, appointed Thomas G. Frinzi senior vice president, sales and marketing. The 20-year industry veteran’s previous experience includes stints with Bausch & Lomb, Endocare, Chiron Vision Corp. and Iolab, a division of Johnson & Johnson.

Steve Johnson, former vice-president of AOL, joined the board of directors of go2 Systems Inc., Irvine. Johnson is a cofounder and chief executive officer of Sage Hill Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm that specializes in investing and advising early-stage Internet companies.

Kimberley Gray joined Uniloc.com Inc., Huntington Beach, a distributor of digital content including software, music, video and e-books, as corporate communications coordinator. Gray is a recent graduate of California State University, Long Beach.

NexTier Solutions Corp., Irvine, a developer of Internet-based supply chain management systems for the printing and publishing market, named Kevin J. Liebl president and chief executive officer.

TDK Semiconductor Corp., Tustin, promoted Bill Boldt from director to vice president and general manager of its embedded systems business unit. Boldt has worked in the industry since 1983 at companies like Rockwell International and Silicon Systems Inc.

Infinilink Corp. named Yvonne S. Liu secretary and treasurer of the Rancho Santa Margarita-based developer of broadband communications products. Liu, a CPA, joined Infinilink this year from Pacific Digital Corp., Irvine, where she was chief financial officer and controller.

Invensys plc and Wonderware Corp., London and Irvine, appointed Joe Cowan president and CEO of Wonderware. Wonderware is an operating unit of the Invensys industrial software and services division.

Net-Strike Worldwide, Irvine, appointed Iyad Darcazallie CFO and vice president of corporate development. Darcazallie joins Net-Strike from Ernst & Young’s new ventures and global corporate development groups where he was San Francisco-based.

Paul N. Blumberg and Wilford D. Godbold Jr. were elected to the board of directors of Ceradyne Inc., Costa Mesa. Blumberg is director of the chemical and physical sciences laboratory, Ford Research Laboratory. Godbold, a private investor, was president and CEO of Zero Corp., a manufacturer of telecommunications, instrumentation and data processing products.

Thomas P. Donahoe joined Atairgin Technologies Inc. as executive director of contract and administrative services. He was previously with Gensia Pharmaceuticals and Fisher Scientific. Rob Goshert, a former manager at CIBA-Geigy and Sicor Inc., joined the company as executive director of sales operations.


Telecommunications

Lightyear recently filled five positions in its Santa Ana office. Michele Arce, Raylyn Hendrix and Barbara Morin were hired as the company’s senior network consultants; Zachary Gable and Michelle “Zoe” Schelle were hired as network consultants.


Tourism

Garry Abel was named vice president of marketing for the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau. Abel comes to the bureau after 22 years with Marriott International, most recently as Marriott’s national account executive in Philadelphia.
