ACCOUNTING

Douglas Cannon joined Insight Consulting Partners in Irvine as a senior consultant. Cannon formerly was a tax partner with Ernst & Young and a general partner with New York venture capital investor J.H. Whitney & Co.


ASSOCIATIONS

The Orange County Business Council named executive committee vice chairs: Rich Stephens, senior vice president of Boeing Co.; Les Card, chief executive of LSA Associates Inc.; Joe Ames of Ames and Associates; and Michael Hornak, managing partner at Costa Mesa-based Rutan & Tucker LLP.


ENGINEERING

RBF Consulting’s Irvine office promoted several people to senior associates: David Barquist, Kim Ruddins, Rebecca Kinney, Tom Ryan, Kevin Schmidt, Bo Burick, Yeong Shih, David Byrnes, Patrick Revere and Holli Kunzelman. Dennis Sanchez joined the Irvine office as an associate.


FINANCE

Fremont Investment & Loan in Brea promoted Vincent Cardenas to vice president and senior commercial review appraiser of its commercial real estate division.

David Donohoe Jr., A. David Strandberg III and Katherine Petty joined Newport Beach-based Roth Capital Partners LLC’s investment banking team.


HEALTHCARE

Tammie Brailsford was named chief operating officer of Long Beach-based MemorialCare Medical Centers, working from the hospital operator’s Huntington Beach offices. Prior to joining MemorialCare, Brailsford was chief operating officer of Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Before that, she was chief operating officer at St. Mary Medical Center and Long Beach Community Medical Center in Long Beach.

Laguna Hills-based BriteAge Corp. added Sherri Medina to its board. Medina is the executive director of CareMeridian, a provider of home healthcare services to the ill and injured. She’s also a principal in Journey Healthcare Properties, which owns and leases healthcare facilities.


INSURANCE

UnionBanc Insurance Services Inc. promoted Steve Marquez as president of the company’s Armstrong/Robitaille division in Fullerton. Marquez has worked in the insurance business for more than 20 years.


LAW

Snell & Wilmer LLP in Costa Mesa appointed Mark Ziebell and Janet Hickson as partners. Ziebell focuses on mergers and acquisitions, security offerings, reporting compliance and venture capital investments. Hickson practices product liability and litigation.

Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP in Costa Mesa named Carlo Van den Bosch co-chair of its intellectual property practice. Van den Bosch specializes in intellectual property transactions and litigation in technology, consumer products and entertainment and media.


MEDIA & MARKETING

Irvine-based Morgan Marketing & Public Relations LLC promoted Heather Tien as an account executive. Tien helps in the planning and execution of public relations campaigns for clients such as Newport Beach’s Galardi Group Inc., Wetzel’s Pretzels LLC in Pasadena and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament Inc. in Buena Park.


NONPROFIT

Irvine Housing Opportunities named Carmen Hill as interim executive director. The group is a nonprofit that develops affordable housing.


REAL ESTATE

Cresa Partners LLC in Newport Beach hired Colleen Hostetter as a partner.

John Tindall joined Walnut-based J.F. Shea Co.’s Shea Properties in Aliso Viejo as vice president of commercial development. Previously, Tindall was the vice president of commercial development for Forest City Enterprises Inc. of Cleveland.


TOURISM

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau named the following directors for 2007: William Snyder of the Anaheim Orange County Hotel & Lodging Association; Bill Stone of Excel Realty Holdings; and David Zeuske of Tarsadia Hotels.
