Architecture
The Newport Beach office of Kaufman Meeks + Partners hired Michael J. Fowler as project architect. Most recently, he was team leader and project manager for the residential division of Mulvanny Architects Inc., Irvine.
Banking & Finance
Wise Hotel Investments, Corona del Mar, added Michael Branigan as a partner for the investment banking firm. He handles both bulk portfolio hotel asset sales and complex acquisitions. Branigan holds a BS in hotel administration and an MBA in real estate finance.
Human Resources
Jennifer Evans was promoted to executive vice president at Davidson Personnel, Irvine. She is an eight-year veteran with the company. In addition, Julie Smithson was hired as manager for business development; Arlene Pattugalan was promoted to manager of marketing communications and administrative services; and Shannon Adams was promoted to manager of technical staffing.
The Society for Human Resource Management elected Phillip A. Barquer area vice president. Barquer is president of Irvine-based HR Alternatives and is active locally with the Professionals in Human Resource Association.
Right Management Consultants, Irvine, hired Janet R. Randolph as vice president of client services, organizational consulting. The 19-year HR veteran was previously vice president of human resources for CoCensys, an Irvine biotechnology company.
Law
Tom Prenovost, managing partner of Santa Ana-based Prenovost, Normandin, Bergh & Dawe, was named California editor for Carlaw, a monthly legal reporting service. Prenovost has been active in the automobile finance legal arena for more than 20 years.
Donald D. Dickerson and Sterling A. Brennan rejoined the Irvine office of Morrison & Foerster as partners. The pair bring expertise in intellectual property, securities, land use and real estate litigation to the firm they left in 1993 when they formed their own practice.
Manufacturing
Krause’s Furniture, Brea, named Edward Gallaway plant general manager. He will be responsible for manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering and raw materials purchasing. Gallaway comes to the company from Simmons Co., for whom he was operations manager at a facility in Compton.
Marketing & Public Relations
Diane Mayer joined J. Rice Communications Inc., a Santa Ana-based business-to-business marketing communications firm as business development manager. She has 20 years of sales and marketing experience.
Newport Beach-based GreenLight Communications promoted Ken Hagihara to public relations senior account executive. He will focus on high-tech clients.
MC Direct, a Poway-based direct marketing company, promoted Christi Watson to account supervisor in the Costa Mesa office. Watson’s expertise lies in designing and developing web-based lead development programs.
Laguna Hills-based Laer Pearce & Associates, added Heidi Hauff as account coordinator. She previously held a similar position with the Peterson Group in Newport Beach. In addition, the company’s president, Laer Pearce, was elected president of the Orange County Forum, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that hosts programs on current events.
NonProfits
The Orange County Natural History Association appointed R. Donald McIntyre its legal advisor. McIntyre practices in the Irvine law firm of Kasdan, Simonds, McIntyre, Epstein & Martin.
Lois Perry of Lake Forest was installed as president of the OC chapter of Executive Women International, a non-profit professional organization. She is an executive assistant at SHURflo Pump Manufacturing Co. in Santa Ana.
Organizations
The OC Chapter of the Community Associations Institute elected Walter Block president and Janet Powers president-elect. Block is vice president of the homeowners association division of U.S. Bank; Powers is an attorney with Fiore, Racobs & Powers in Irvine.
Printing
Helen Wood joined United Printing & Mailing, Santa Ana, as senior account representative. She will manage sales for the company’s direct marketing, mailing, printing and high-speed laser services. Wood was formerly with Bates/Lee Advertising in Costa Mesa.
Real Estate
CT Realty Corp., Newport Beach, appointed Steve Morrison vice president of commercial acquisitions and business development. Previously, he held a similar position with Highland Pacific, also in Newport Beach.
Thomas D. Lenny joined the retail division of Cousins Properties Inc., Newport Beach, as senior vice president of the Western region. He will be responsible for market and site identification and procurement and major tenant relations.
