ARCHITECTURE
Costa Mesa-based Nadel Architects Inc. promoted three people to the position of vice president: Joan Frei, Michael Leberman and Chris Lee. Frei has served as director of marketing for the company’s retail division since 1999. Leberman has been with the company since 2000. Lee joined Nadel in 1988 and most recently served as director of production. In addition, Gang Chen, project manager, and Mauricio Klink, designer, were promoted to associate.
Darlene A. Thomas has been named regional director of design for Richmond American Homes’ Southern California operations based in Irvine. She previously held the position of merchandising manager. Richmond American is part of Denver-based MDC Holdings Inc.

Kathy Beckman joined the Irvine office of PinnacleOne Inc. construction consultants as national marketing director.
CONSULTING
RBF Consulting added seven associates to its Irvine office: Jon Brown, Patrick Revere, Mary Hambel, Tom Ryan, Gina Ciampaglia, Kelly Huck and Holli Kunzelman.
Kevin A. Martin joined Irvine-based Chambers Group Inc., an environmental consulting firm, as assistant director of terrestrial biology.

Lake Forest-based Eagle Community Credit Union appointed Andrea Alcala as Placentia branch manager; Edward Mraz, member service center manager; Mario Soria, computer operations manager; and Linda Swaniger, human resources manager.
Washington Mutual Inc. hired Fred Nelson as senior vice president and DUS production manager in its apartment lending division. Nelson, who came to the company from Berkshire Mortgage Finance, will work out of the Costa Mesa office.
Lynn George and Frank Ellis were named directors at Ernst & Young. They will work out of the Irvine office.
Ironstone Bank appointed William Fowler to area executive for the Orange County area, Alicia LaDow to manager and Peter Mesherky to business banker. They will work out of the bank’s first Orange County branch, located in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Costa Mesa-based Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP appointed Jack W. Fleming and Bruce G. Holden partners in the Orange County office. Fleming specializes in construction and Holden in financial transactions. Both were formerly partners at Arter & Hadden LLP, which closed its doors in July.
RESEARCH
Irvine-based Eliant Inc. named Edward Zinke to the newly created position of vice president, satisfaction solutions. Sara Ferrer was appointed marketing coordinator.
SERVICES
Aliso Viejo-based RemedyTemp Inc., a professional staffing company, appointed Janet Hawkins senior vice president of sales and marketing. Hawkins owns Hawkins Advertising and Public Relations and has worked with RemedyTemp since 1983.
Electronic Exchange Systems Inc., a merchant processing provider in Newport Beach, hired Allan Smith as vice president of operations. Peter Scharnell was promoted to vice president of marketing.

Irvine-based Dempsey Business Systems named Aaron Biehl vice president of sales.
Richard Gerbasi was appointed senior project manager for Lake Forest-based FutureTrade Technologies Inc., which provides electronic trading software and services for institutional traders and hedge fund managers. Sara O’Meara was appointed account manager for the West Coast.
Jonathan Sherman joined Indianapolis-based ExactTarget as regional account manager for Orange County.
