MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

A 23-year industry veteran, Scott Fagerstrom, joined Hill and Knowlton as a managing director in the media relations practice. Fagerstrom comes to the firm from the San Diego Union-Tribune, where he was business editor. He will be based in the agency’s Irvine office.

Irvine-based Sandler Sales Institute hired John Baker to spearhead the firm’s outside sales and personal coaching efforts. Baker was previously a pro-football scout with the New York Jets.

Newport Beach-based L & A; Marketing and Advertising Inc. named Elliot Light president of National Marketing Resources Network, a nationwide confederation of marketing and communications firms.

Exhibit Works, Foothill Ranch, appointed a 12-year industry veteran Jerry Kern senior account executive. Kern, will work to expand the company’s business on the West Coast.

Gladstone International, Irvine, hired Jennifer Coffin as office manager. Previously, Coffin was a manager and administrative officer for Las Casuelas Restaurants.


NONPROFITS

Olive Crest Abused Children’s Foundation, Santa Ana, elected the following officers to its Orange County board of trustees: John Driscoll, president; Michael W. Gibbons, vice president of programs; Bonnie E. Kehe, vice president of operations. The Foundation is responsible for the organization’s fund-raising campaigns.

Newport Beach-based Western Services Foundation, a nonprofit public benefit corporation, appointed five people to its board of directors for terms that run through 2002: David Aponik, superintendent of the Burbank Unified School District; Gary Vatcher, president of national healthcare Services; Carol Dunn Trussell, producer at 20th Century Fox Television; John Hooper, president of investment banking firm Curtis Nash & Associates; and Vicki Clark, president of WSF.


ORGANIZATIONS

The National Nutritional Foods Association named Adam Finney director of member services. Finney’s responsibilities include developing and overseeing membership retention and recruitment programs. Previously, he was membership director for the California Credit Union League.

Joe Inge was elected by the Orange County Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth as president for 2000-2001. Inge has been a member of ACG for five years and was previously president-elect and membership vice president.


REAL ESTATE

Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc. promoted Cynthia Hunter to sales and marketing representative. Hunter will be based in the firm’s Irvine office.

Paul A. Trevino was promoted to president of the multifamily investment division for Sares-Regis Group, Irvine. The 18-year industry veteran will be responsible for existing multifamily acquisitions and institutional investment properties.

Regina L. Burke joined Cushman & Wakefield to direct its market research division for the firm’s six offices in Southern California, including Orange County. The 17-year industry veteran comes to the firm from Grubb & Ellis, where she was research director and client services manager.

The Meyers Group, Irvine, named Michael F. Henn president. Previously, Henn was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Kaufman and Broad Home Corp. Henn will be responsible for the sales, marketing, research operations and information systems departments.

Coreland Carlson, Tustin, appointed Lisa R. Forster director of leasing/sales, Los Angeles.

Lake Forest-based Professional Community Management Inc. promoted Debra Roberts to controller. Roberts will be responsible for developing educational seminars for clients and employees and assisting community managers with annual budgets and reviews of association audits in addition to managing the accounting department.

Newport Beach-based Fieldstone Communities Inc. named Robert K. Nunes to the newly created position of Southern California sales director. Previously, Nunes was a sales associate for Shea Homes. Nunes will oversee the firm’s sales staff in Orange and San Diego counties and assist the company’s Utah region.


RETAIL

Crazy Shirts named Randy Yeager president, CEO and co-chairman of the board of the combined Pacific and Mainland operations. Yeager returns to the firm from two years with Three Day Blinds. In addition, John Loevenguth was appointed executive vice president of the board of directors for Ralston Enterprises and Crazy Shirts Inc. Loevenguth will continue as the firm’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer.


TECHNOLOGY

Daniel B. Wong was named vice president of finance for IPNet Solutions, Newport Beach. Previously, the 13-industry veteran was vice president of finance for Tickets.com.

Newport Beach-based GDI International, a technology incubator and venture capital firm, hired Raymond Elledge as sales manager of professional services. In his new role, Elledge comes to the company from the aerospace industry.

Thomson-CSF Sextant In-Flight Systems, Irvine, appointed Olivier Boulart director of e-services. Previously, Boulart was vice president of information systems for Thomson-CSF in France.

Scott Streitman was named chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration for nexTier Solutions Corp., Irvine. Streitman will also serve as the firm’s liaison to the financial community.

Previously, he was with San Diego-based Peregrine Systems Inc.

Versifi Inc., Newport Beach, appointed a 25-year industry veteran, Don Plekenpol president and CEO. Previously, Plekenpol was vice president and general manager of SAIC.


TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Bruce Wells was appointed regional manager of the Southern California Region for United Telecom. The 17-year industry veteran will be based in the firm’s newly-opened Orange office. Previously, Wells was with Williams Communications.
