ADVERTISING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Irvine-based O’Leary and Partners promoted Thomas Choi from media director to vice president as well as media director. Choi has been with the agency for nearly six years.

Jeff Morris was promoted from executive vice president of account services to president, and Michael Robertson was promoted from creative director to executive creative director at Newport Beach-based Heil-Brice Retail Advertising. Hal Brice, former president and executive creative director, will serve as co-chief executive along with Joni Brice.

ARCHITECTURE

Ware Malcomb, an architecture, planning and interior design firm, hired Margie Licauco and Julie Richards as project managers at its Irvine office. Licauco, a state licensed architect, joined Ware Malcomb’s healthcare department. Richards joined the interior architecture and design department. The firm also announced the promotion of Denise Scott from marketing assistant to marketing coordinator.

LAW

Brett J. Souza was named partner at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP. Souza joined the firm in 2000 and practices in its corporate finance and securities, entrepreneurial, technology and commercial practice, and transactions client service groups at the Irvine office. He also cofounded UniReach International Inc., a nonprofit group that works to improve the lives of the needy in developing countries.

REAL ESTATE

John Odegaard joined the Newport Beach office of NAI Capital Commercial as vice president of retail development and leasing in Orange and Riverside counties. Odegaard comes from Muller Commercial Real Estate and has experience as a retail developer and investor.

The Irvine Company Retail Properties, part of The Irvine Company, promoted Barbara Rea from marketing manager to senior marketing manager. Six others from Madison Marquette Retail Services, which used to provide retail management services to the Irvine Co., also were hired: Janice A. Fuchs as vice president of asset management; David Villalobos as vice president of development services; Dean Alstrup as senior director and project manager; Gregg La Cagnina as senior director of asset management; James Lynch as director of portfolio operations; and Stacie Ellis as director of marketing for Irvine Spec-trum Center. In addition, Donna Siebert joined the company as operations director for the neighborhood and community center portfolio. She most recently served as vice president of property management at Omni Group of Cos. in Phoenix.

Oliver Ternate was promoted to associate at Irvine-based Zuvich Corporate Advisors Inc. Ternate is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, and in 2000 joined Zuvich, which used to be known as ZCA Inc.

The Newport Beach office of Prudential California Realty added Dottie Valentine and Kimberly Valentine as sales associates. Dottie Valentine previously was an agent with Unique Homes Brokerage. Author and public speaker Kimberly Valentine formerly was a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

SECURITY

Gil Ledesma was promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president at JMG Security Systems in Fountain Valley. Ledesma has been sales manager at the company since 1999.

TECHNOLOGY

Cal Quality Electronics Inc. in Santa Ana hired Julie Ellis and Greg McMahon as sales engineers. Ellis most recently was with Willis International and brings national and international sales experience. McMahon’s background includes nuclear engineering, laser optical communications, microelectronic physics and his most recent position of sales engineer at NDC Infrared.

Kim Poindexter was promoted from senior vice president of development to executive vice president of engineering at Costa Mesa-based FileNet Corp., a business software maker. Poindexter has been with FileNet for more than two decades and succeeds Franz Zihlmann, who retired after a 20-year career with the company.
