Jack A. Carr, a pioneer of Orange County’s development into a tech center, died May 20 following a heart attack. He was 71.
Carr’s business and management career spanned four decades. He was appointed chief financial officer of Uniloc.com Inc. in Huntington Beach in March this year. Carr was on the board of directors of the company, a provider of digital content to computer users.
Previously, Carr was president of Deutsch Corp., an aerospace components company where he worked for six years.
For most of his career, Carr worked with Parker Hannifin Corp., which manufactures industrial and aerospace products, including a stint as group vice president in Irvine.
Carr was a member of the California Polytechnic University industry advisory councils, the Southern California Coalition for Education in Manufacturing Engineering, and the engineering advisory board at California State University, Fullerton.
He earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics from UCLA and was a graduate of the executive management programs at UCI and the University of Michigan.
Carr is survived by his wife, Barbara, four daughters, a son, son-in-law and granddaughter.
Funeral services were held May 24 in Newport Beach.
