Laguna Niguel resident Patricia J. Clark was a recipient of the 1999-2000 Outstanding Professor Award at Cal State Long Beach, the university’s highest faculty honor.
Clark, an art professor who this year is also a judge for the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, joined CSULB in 1988. In 1990, she was appointed chair of the art department, a position she relinquished in 1995 in order to return to the classroom.
Clark is a past director and executive director of USC’s Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts and was responsible for implementing the CSU Summer Arts Program for the California State University Chancellor’s office.
A specialist in drawing and painting, Clark has exhibited her works nationally and internationally. She holds a master of fine arts degree in graphic arts and painting from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. and a bachelor’s degree in art from Bemidji State University in Minnesota.
