Link Newcomb has resigned as chief operating officer of Foothill Ranch-based Oakley Inc. and from the company’s board, Oakley said Thursday.
The sunglasses maker said Newcomb is set to continue with the company as a part-time senior adviser to Chief Executive Scott Olivet. Newcomb will oversee various special projects.
Oakley said the chief operating officer position will not be filled, and Olivet will take on its day-to-day responsibilities.
Olivet was named chief executive at Oakley last fall, replacing founder and Chairman Jim Jannard.
