Yorba Linda-based NetGuru Inc. on Thursday said its loss during the past year narrowed despite a decline in revenue.
NetGuru, which provides computer software and services, posted a loss of $788,000 for the year ended March 31, down from a loss of $3.1 million a year earlier.
This year’s results included a gain from discontinued operations of $67,000 while the 2004 loss included a charge from discontinued operations of $508,000.
Sales in the past year fell 4% to $15.8 million, mainly because of a 16% drop in revenue from its information technology unit.
Shares of NetGuru closed Thursday at $1.42, up 28 cents. In afterhours trading following its earnings release, shares of NetGuru were up 23%.
“We expect to report higher revenues and profit for fiscal 2006,” said Amrit Das, NetGuru chairman and chief executive.
Das cited a cut in expenses for the positive forecast.
