Karen Bennett from Community Association Consulting, Newport Beach and Ross Feinberg of Feldsott, Lee & Feinberg, Newport Beach received the President’s Award from the Community Associations Institute, Orange County Regional Chapter.

Kaufman, Meeks + Partners received a Platinum award for best rental development at the 16th annual Beat in American Living Awards gala. The Newport Beach-based architectural firm was honored for its work with Tierra Del Rey, a luxury apartment community.

Nubia Dorothy Rivas, Fullerton, was awarded the Junior League of Orange County, California Inc. scholarship for the 1999-2000 academic year. She was honored for her involvement with Girl’s Hope, a program supported by the JLOCC.

Gary Davis of Market One was selected the 1999 Ambassador of the Year by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented annually to the member who makes an outstanding contribution of time and effort to the success of Chamber programs. This is the fifth time he has received the award.

Ryan Rieches of RiechesBaird Advertising was chosen 1999 Member of the Year by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board Bob Tarver. The award is presented annually by the chairman to an individual who provided exceptional service to the Chamber during the past year.

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, a Newport Beach-based architecture firm, received top honors for 22 projects they designed worldwide. The WAT & G; projects were chosen as the best in the world in a comprehensive survey conducted by Cond & #233;Nast Traveler Magazine. The survey also claimed the firm designed more of the world’s top destinations than any other firm on the planet.

The National Republican Congressional Committee named Dr. Bernard Luskin, president and co-CEO of GlobalLearning-Systems.com in Virginia, the 1999 Businessman of the Year for Virginia. Before his position with the e-learning company, Luskin was president of Orange Coast College, founding president of Coastline Community College and a founding executive of Orange County’s PBS affiliate KOCE-TV.

Linda Walker of Parker Aerospace was selected HR Executive of the Year by the Orange County affiliate of the National Human Resources Association. Walker is group vice president of human resources for the Irvine-based aerospace systems provider.

Prudential RB Allen Commercial Real Estate Services presented its Costa Mesa office the 1999 Pinnacle Office award for Commercial GCI. The award is presented annually to the brokerage network’s top ten offices in the United States.

Fluor Daniel of Aliso Viejo received the Distinguished Organization Award for 2000 by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. The award recognizes the engineering firm for its support of the profession and science of metallurgy.

James Peters of the Northwestern Mutual Life Company’s Long Beach office was awarded the National Quality Award by the National Association of Life Underwriters. The award recognizes an agent’s ability to provide longstanding insurance products and service to clients.

The Orange County Bar Association presented Michael Pursell, a private practice attorney in Fountain Valley, the 1999 Franklin G. West award. The award is presented to an outstanding attorney or judge who makes significant contributions to advance and elevate justice and law.

Jeanne Sleeper of JBS & Associates was recognized by Convention South Magazine as one of the 100 Outstanding Meeting Professionals. Sleeper is president of the Laguna Beach-based meeting and event planning company.

Sage Software Inc. was named 1999 Business of the Year by the City of Irvine and the Irvine Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to the business whose participation in civil, community and education programs contributes to a better community.

The Orange County Fair & Exposition Center received 31 industry awards in the Western Fairs Association’s 1999 Achievement Awards program. The awards included 10 first-place awards, 11 second-place awards, 5 third-place awards and 5 honorable mentions.

Randy M. Kalish received the Leadership in Engineering Award from the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering. He was recognized for his achievements in land development and entertainment projects.
