The Milton M. Hill Quality Award was presented to Alexander’s Moving & Storage, Tustin, an agency of Atlas Van Lines. The award recognizes agencies that display the highest level of performance within the Atlas organization.

The California Council for Quality and Service honored William Lyon Management Company, Newport Beach, with a silver level award and the best-in-class distinction for the small service category. The California Quality Award program was developed to honor private and public sector organizations that achieve excellence in the workplace.

Knott’s Berry Farm was honored by the Handicapped Law Compliance Office at a ceremony held at the theme park. Knott’s was commended for outstanding compliance with state and federal handicapped accessibility laws and for demonstrating excellent courtesy for disabled people.

Disneyland Park honored more than 800 participants of the Disneyland 5-Day Flex Passport to Prizes program. The honorees were comprised of sales agents from 112 hotels, hotel ticket outlets and other sales outlets. The top five accounts that received awards were: Jolly Roger Hotel general manager Freddie Kikash; Howard Johnson front office manager Mike Cleaver; Candy Cane Inn general manager Kathy Lanzi; Desert Inn & Suites general manager Deann Yukihiro; and Residence Inn Anaheim general manager Jim Keeby.

Playwright Richard Greenberg was named South Coast Repertory associate artist. The designation recognizes artists who have contributed to SCR and maintained an ongoing relationship with the theater.

An Irvine Company executive vice president, Joe Davis, received the Good Scout Award from the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America for his dedication to area youth and community leadership. He was honored at a luncheon hosted by the Boy Scouts and Orange County’s construction industry.

Timothy Kay, partner for Gibson Dunn and Crutcher LLP, chaired Orange County’s United Way most recent fundraising campaign. He was a member of the board of directors for five years, chairman of the community services committee from 1997-1999 and headed United Way’s competitive grant process prior to leading the campaign.

The Bass Hotels and Resorts 1999 quality excellence awards were presented to Holiday Inn Buena Park Hotel and Conference Center and Crowne Plaza Irvine. The award is based on results from the guest satisfaction tracking system, which allows guests to evaluate hotels and their overall performance.

C. Jan Garner earned membership in the Million-Dollar Round Table’s Quarter Century Club, comprised of members who have been in MDRT for 25 years or more. MDRT is an international, independent association of approximately 21,000 sales professionals in the life insurance-based financial services business.

The San Jose Film and Video Commission awarded Script to Screen, an Orange County direct response television producer, with a Joey award. The company was honored in the category of best consumer video over $35,000 for its production of “Heroes in Motion.”
