Soka University of America has sold its original Calabasas campus and is moving the graduate program from there to its panoramic Aliso Viejo location. VP Arch Asawa notes recent achievements at the Buddhist-inspired liberal arts university: regional accreditation (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) three years ahead of schedule; four-year graduation rates of 83% and 94% for the first two undergrad classes; a third of students applying to graduate schools and all of those being accepted, including to Harvard, Yale, London School of Economics and the UCs; half of the student body from overseas, representing 30 countries; and being the first U.S. school to require a semester of study abroad.
