FileNET Sells More to Existing Clients

Costa Mesa-based FileNET Corp. saw an upswing in orders from existing customers in the second quarter, Chief Executive Lee Roberts said.

The maker of software to manage online documents, images and forms closed nine deals worth more than $1 million in the second quarter, Roberts told Reuters.

FileNET closed another 13 deals valued at more than $500,000, he said. The company gets about three-quarters of sales from existing customers.

“We’re seeing signs that it’s coming back now,” Roberts said. “We’re seeing bigger deals come back.”

In all, FileNET’s second-quarter sales rose 6% to $88.2 million from the year-ago quarter. Software sales,which led to more service work for FileNET, were $34.4 million, up 19%. Service revenue made up nearly 60% of FileNET’s sales in the second quarter.
